5.8 quake hits Greek island small damages

A strong earthquake with an initial 5.8-magnitude strike the Greek island of Kefalonia on Saturday, with local media reporting small injuries for some residents and harm to buildings and roads.

The temblor’s epicenter has been about 280 kilometers (175 kilometers) west of Athens, close to the city of Lixouri on the island, and its own depth was 17 kilometers (11 kilometers), the Athens Geodynamic Institute stated.
