American cutting flights from NY, DC right after merger
American Airlines and Us all Airways will fall year-round, daily non-stop flights from Washington’s Reagan National Airport terminal to Detroit, NORTH PARK and 15 other towns due to the deal they designed to win government approval of these merger.
They will end non-stop flights from New York’s LaGuardia Airport terminal to Atlanta, Cleveland and Minneapolis but will include support from LaGuardia to 10 other cities.
The combined company, U . s . Airlines Group Inc., introduced the changes Wednesday.
American and Us all Airways are quitting some takeoff and landing privileges in NY and Washington under an offer that settled an authorities lawsuit against their merger.
